Pixel and Print designed the print and digital collateral for Area Codez, a one-night pop-up that brought three nationally recognized cocktail bars to Fern Bar in Kansas City.
The lineup featured Happy Accidents from Albuquerque with Nobian Henan, Last Rites from San Francisco with Steph Granados, and Condor’s Cove from Kansas City with Diana Condori. Each bartender developed their own exclusive cocktails for the night, which we also photographed to capture the craft behind the event.
Casa Del Hot Dog served up Cali-style hot dogs, while powerhouse sponsors like Lalo Tequila and Planteray Rum added to the collaborative spirit that inspired this event.
The art direction of Area Codez was built around a Y2K-inspired aesthetic, chosen for its nostalgic but playful edge. This mirrored the event’s mash-up of cities, styles, and personalities. Abstract photography was integrated into the campaign to echo each city’s skyline, creating a visual language that bridged Albuquerque, San Francisco, and Kansas City.
The result of these creative choices was bold, memorable materials that promoted the event while setting expectations high for the nearly 15,000 people who engaged with the campaign across three markets. The venue, of course, stayed packed all night.
